So 'Storm Imogen' hits. Best place to be is indoors with a sketchbook, roaring fire and nice mug of tea.
Today I have been researching the work of photographers I am less familiar with, to help aid my teaching of Photography GCSE. I discovered Lee Friedlander today. His work on reflections and stillness (especially in motel rooms) are really inspiring. I love this image 'Florida 1963', it really reminds me of the horror film 'The Ring' (The original one not the remake). Though its a visual image regularly seen by everyone (faces on a screen) here it just seems so spooky and trapped, like the image wants to get out.

I've been painting and drawing a lot of eyes recently, a subject matter I often revisit, maybe that's why I was drawn towards the above image today.
Happy year of the Monkey everyone.
Colour of The Day; Navy Blue (feel it sums up the weather particularly well)
